Join us for our 2nd show in the Underground Series featuring Kansas based band, The Haymakers.
Haymakers takes the concept of the string band and plugs it into a broad swath of acoustic music that stretches from traditional folk to americana, from Appalachian mountain music to western swing, and even into the realm of the jamband. Dustin Arbuckle (vocals/harmonica), Tom Page (vocals/guitar),
Anthony Trupia (mandolin) and Caleb Drummond (bass/vocals) lock into an array of grooves that go in and outside the box of traditional acoustic music.
Critical acclaim for Haymakers
Featuring beautiful mandolin and harmony vocals, Haymakers' upcoming album, Live at the Art Church showcases what Haymakers do best: entertaining their audiences as a jamming string-band. Haymakers music both traditional songs and original compositions incorporates a wide range of acoustic genres. With upright bass, guitar, harmonica and a superb mandolin section, their expertly performed blend of instruments is perfect for live settings, so the bands new live album fills the gap left by a pandemic-interrupted touring schedule. - Americana UK
Haymakers sound starts with the classic string band idea of a well-oiled acoustic music machine, piles on traditional folk, Americana, mountain music, and western swing, and, finally, heaps on lush multi-part harmonies. - Americana Rhythm Magazine
They will be playing live at the Historic Heaton Building in the lower level (basement) on February 18, 2023, with the show starting at 7pm.
